Description of the problem: There have been cases of fires or of fires starting (overheating/smoke development) in Mini Crosser T-model and E-model scooters. A fire can only occur when the vehicle is turned on and being used. It cannot happen when charging the batteries. |

Potential risk The risk is less than 0.04% (less than 1 out of 2500). |

Advice on action to be taken by the user: Action 1: (corrective)
All affected electrical scooters must have the controller settings changed to protect the motor and controller from overheating. Please contact local dealer in your country in order to agree on an arrangement to correct these settings on your electrical scooter.
If you experience smoke or a bad smell coming from your scooter then turn it off and stop using it immediately. Do not use it again until you have got it serviced.
Action 2: (corrective)
It is stressed that the electrical scooter must pass a safety test once a year (corresponding to approximately 500 hours) for safety reasons. The user manual will be updated with this new specification, which is relevant for electrical scooters of the type Mini Crosser T-model, E-model and Nordic. Servicing must be carried out by an authorised workshop.
IMPORTANT! For safety reasons it is of the outmost importance that the servicing and safety check intervals are complied with as this minimises the risk of brake failure and short-circuits in the wiring with possible heat generation and fire to follow.”
Please contact local dealer in your country in order to have the safety test done on your electrical scooter.
The rationale for us to send out this letter is to prevent further incidents. Please forward this letter to other relevant persons/companies to whom the electrical scooter has been sold or handed over to.
